The June exports of the paper and cardboard industry, on the other hand, achieved the best performance of this year with 314 million dollars.
Alican Duran, Vice President of Istanbul Furniture, Paper and Forestry Products Exporters’ Association, told Anadolu Agency (AA) that this year continued well after 2021, which ended with a strong and above-expected performance.
Expressing that they increased their potential thanks to their factory investments in the country and abroad in the first half of 2022, when they opened up to new market places, Duran said that they were less affected by the Russia-Ukraine war and other negative developments thanks to the strict measures they took.
Duran said, “There is no doubt that our efforts to react quickly and to prepare and put into effect the prevention plans that we experienced with the epidemic were effective.” he said. Underlining that Turkish paper manufacturers have started to make a name for themselves more frequently in the world with new investment and export moves, Duran said, “Our new investments are ready for the second half of the year. We aim to exceed the export figure in 2021 by realizing these as soon as possible and further increasing the current export capacity of our sector.” made the statement.
